Is 'SNL' on Tonight? Watch Seth Meyers Return to 'Saturday Night Live'

It's been four years since Seth Meyers gave up his post on Saturday Night Live to become the fulltime host of NBC's Late Night show. The comedian hasn't returned to the sketch comedy show since he left in 2014, but all that will change when he hosts SNL on Saturday.

Meyers will reunite with SNL creator Lorne Michaels and a few of his former castmates on the upcoming episode of the NBC show. While many of the stars he often appeared in sketches with during his tenure have also departed from SNL, there's a possibility fans will see Meyers take the stage with old pals like Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant come Saturday night. He may even take over the "Weekend Update," which he formerly hosted alongside Amy Poehler.

Meyers was one of the most memorable and long-running personalities on SNL before he departed. He joined the cast in 2001. His SNL role expanded when he was promoted to writing supervisor in 2005. He later became co-head writer, along with Tina Fey and Andrew Steele, in 2006.

While he was a popular figure for appearing on the show, Meyer's writing on SNL received critical acclaim. Meyer's was responsible for many of Fey's sketches during the 2008 presidential election, in which she parodied Alaska Governor and vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin. It was actually Meyers who was credited for creating the iconic phrase pronounced by Fey's Palin, "I can see Russia from my house." Meyer's work on a musical bit featuring guest host Justin Timberlake also won him an Emmy in 2011.

Who's performing: Paul Simon is also returning to the SNL stage following a lengthy hiatus. Simon has not only performed on SNL several times since the show's 1975 inception but he's also hosted and filmed cameos for various episode over the years. His upcoming performance will mark his 19^thappearance on the show thus far. The last time he visited was in 2013.

When: SNL will air during its usual timeslot of 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
