Shock as Woman Swims to Extreme Lengths for Social Media Clip: 'Scary'

A woman has shocked the internet after posting a video of herself "having the time of [her] life" at the edge of the Devil's Pool, on the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls in Southern Africa.

In a video she shared on TikTok on Wednesday, under the username Sunshinelees4, the woman and two men can be seen swimming by the edge of the waterfalls, right by the precipice, with a rainbow in the background.

Situated on the borders between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls are considered to be one of the unofficial seven natural wonders of the world, but the breathtaking views they offer don't come risk-free.

Because of the force of water that cascades over the falls, visitors must adhere to safety precautions laid out by guides who accompany tourists.

The Devil's Pool, where the video was filmed, is a natural-rock swimming pool located on a ledge next to Victoria Falls, where, according to Zambia Tourism, you can "feel the force of the Zambezi [River] flowing past you," and crashing down over the precipice.

It is the world's largest sheet of falling water, formed by the mile-wide Zambezi as it crashes into a 355-feet-deep precipice on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Flowing at up to 110 million gallons per minute, it creates a 1,640-feet-high rainbow-tinted spray, alluded to in its local name Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means "the smoke that thunders."

The video, which has been viewed almost 700,000 times and received 45,200 likes, has a caption that reads: "Had the time of my life, didn't realize how scary it was till I watched the videos."

One TikToker Rees26 wrote: "Boyyyyyyy never underestimate the power of water." And Joythabi cabwza commented: "Immediately no! Is that the devil's pool?"

Another user Tasha's Beauty and Aesthetics added: "All I wanna know is, who discovered that place." And Maggie wrote: "I think I'd pass out first."

Another user Mugo wrote: "You are very brave indeed. When I was there a couple [of] weeks ago I could only admire from afar," while Abbie added: "As soon as I saw you swimming to the rope I knew Victoria falls! Wish I could do this again!"

TC_Oceans commented: "Why would I ever want to be in the devil pool? I will be dead b4 the devil comes for me." And user788622386885 wrote: "Dangerous but beautiful, even more with the rainbow."
