Shocking Video Shows Moment Cargo Train Crashes Into Semi-Truck

A train collided with a semi-truck on Sunday, causing significant traffic disruptions in one Texas city.

The incident took place Sunday morning, approximately 9 a.m. local time, near the small Parker County city of Aledo, Texas, on West Farm to Market 5 near Annetta Centerpoint Road. Aledo boasts a population of roughly 4,900 and is situated in northeastern Texas, roughly 20 miles west of Fort Worth.

Details on the accident are sparse at this time, but a user named Kristi Ingram took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to share a brief 4-second clip of the crash from the perspective of another car down the road. In it, a semi-truck can be seen with its considerably large load stopped on a set of railroad tracks. To the shock of the individual filming, a freight train then collides with the load, pushing the truck for a significant distance.

Newsweek reached out to the Parker County Sheriff's Office via email for further comment.

According to CBS News, the sheriff's office announced that both lanes of West Farm to Market 5 would be closed until further notice while the wreck was handled. While the incident resulted in some diesel and oil spillages, fire department and hazmat crews on the scene said there was no danger to public at the time and that no injuries had been reported.

"Traffic Alert!! FM 5 at Annetta Centerpoint Road is closed both ways until further notice for a railroad collision with semi truck trailer and train derailment," the sheriff's office said in a post to its official Facebook page. "There was some diesel fuel and oil spilled but the fire department and hazmat crews are in scene. No other chemicals were spilled or released. No danger to the public. No injuries were reported."

Last month, a semi-truck was also involved in a shocking crash just outside of Columbus, Ohio, rear-ending a charter bus in the westbound lane of Interstate 70 that had been carrying nearly 60 band students and their adult chaperones. The truck had, according to reports, been following the bus too closely for some distance and did not adequately slow as the bus was doing so, resulting in the crash.

The bus had been bound for the Ohio School Boards Association conference from the Tuscarawas Valley School District south of Akron. It was later confirmed that the crash killed three of the students and three adults who had been on the bus.
