Smithsonian magazine has named the finalists in its 15th Annual Photo Contest. This year's competition received 48,000 submissions from photographers in 155 countries and territories. The judges have chosen ten finalists in each of the six categories: Natural World, The American Experience, Travel, People, Altered Images and Mobile.
Now they would like your help: Newsweek readers are invited to vote for a special Readers' Choice Award. Voting is limited to one vote per user per day and runs through 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time on March 26.

The Readers' Choice Winner, the six category winners and the Grand Prize will be announced on March 27.
