'Snowfall' Season 2 on FX: Sneak Peek Teases Franklin and Teddy's...Alliance?

The reign of Franklin Saint continues when Snowfall Season 2 premieres on FX on Thursday.

A few months have passed since Franklin (Damson Idris) initially created his drug ring with the help of his cocaine connect Avi Drexer (Alon Aboutboul), his Uncle Jerome (Amin Joseph) and bumbling, trusty sidekicks Leon (Isiah John) and Kevin (Malcolm Mays). The trap house where his Aunt Louie (Angela Lewis) cooks up crack rock is up and running, and from the looks of the Season 2 trailer, it seems as though Franklin already has expansion on his mind despite only launching his baby enterprise a mere season ago.

Of course, his plans to expand don't come without a few bumps and bruises—literally and figuratively—and it all seems to lead him right into the path of CIA operative Teddy McDonald, who is still selling millions of dollars' worth of cocaine undercover to an assortment of dealers in Los Angeles for the U.S. government's secret efforts to fund a war in Colombia.

In the sneak peek clip, Teddy and Franklin meet to discuss potentially working together. Franklin makes it crystal clear he doesn't want any funny business should he decide to get in bed with Teddy. "No games. No tricks. No bulls**t. You be straight up with me, I'll be straight up with you," Franklin says.

Considering Teddy's history of mental instability and his shaky relationship with the CIA, odds of him keeping it straight with Franklin seem slim.

Franklin isn't the only one looking to broaden his business, though. The Mexican cartel operated by Lucia (Emily Rios) and Gustavo, aka Oso (Sergio Peris-Mencheta)—whom Teddy is also in cahoots with—are similarly taking their dealings to the next level. Their plans to grow their organization may face some turbulence, though, after Lucia's cousin Pedro (Filipe Valle Costa) was spotted in the trailer, hinting the shootout that claimed his father's life didn't leave him dead too.

While the money will certainly pile up as Season 2 continues to track the rise of the crack-era in California, fans should expect the body count to stack up just as high.

Snowfall returns to FX at 10 p.m. ET on Thursday.
