With only three weeks left in the transfer window, time is beginning to run out for Premier League clubs looking to strengthen their squads.
Here, Newsweek takes you through the latest rumors and gossip swirling around world soccer.
Let's begin with Anthony Martial, whose future at Manchester United remains shrouded in doubt. Last month, the Frenchman's agent indicated his client want to leave Old Trafford this summer, saying his career has stalled under Jose Mourinho.
According to The Guardian, the Portuguese has reluctantly accepted United should explore the option of selling Martial, who started both of the club's pre-season friendlies so far. However, ESPN reports the club's executive vice chairman Ed Woodward wants to keep Martial at the club and is reportedly intent on triggering a 12-month extension, which would increase the 22-year-old's market value.
The Times believes Chelsea could offer Martial an escape route as they line-up a potential replacement for Eden Hazard, but Mourinho is unlikely to be minded to sell the forward to a Premier League rival.
The Portuguese, meanwhile, also admitted he may not get the players he wants in this transfer window. United have signed Brazilian midfielder Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto right-back Diogo Dalot, while Lee Grant arrived as third-choice goalkeeper from Stoke City.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph suggests Mourinho could spend around $85 million on Leicester City and England defender Harry Maguire, who was one of the Three Lions' star performers at the World Cup.
The Daily Mail instead claims AC Milan's defender Leonardo Bonucci and Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld remain on Mourinho's radar. While Spurs might be prepared to let the Belgian defender go, they are closing in on the signing of Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
The Telegraph claims the 22-year-old will tell Villa he wants to leave to play in the Champions League, with a deal possible for a fee of around $39.4 million. Across London, meanwhile, Chelsea have a fight on their hands to keep Hazard and Willian at Stamford Bridge.
According to the Daily Mail, last season's FA Cup winners will decide later this week whether to sell Willian to Barcelona for around $85 million. Should he move to Spain, the Brazilian could well face Gareth Bale next season, after Spanish newspaper AS reported the Welshman will not leave Real Madrid this summer.
Bale's teammate Mateo Kovacic, on the other hand, looks set to wave the Spanish capital goodbye. According to the The Sun, Manchester City are among the candidate to land the Croatian, who impressed during the World Cup, but might face competition from United.
Sky Sports suggests the defending Premier League champions were put off by Real Madrid's asking price of $105 million earlier this summer, but the The Sun believes the Croatian has a release clause worth $57.7 million instead.
Elsewhere, talkSPORT claims Andre Schurrle could be set for a return to the Premier League. The former Chelsea forward has been told he can leave Borussia Dortmund after two disappointing seasons and is reportedly wanted by Crystal Palace and Fulham.
