Some Taylor Swift Fans Really Hate Jack Antonoff's Collaboration

After the release of her 10th studio album, Midnights, Taylor Swift fans took to Twitter to share their opinions, with many calling out Jack Antonoff for his participation in the production.

Antonoff, who is the lead singer of Bleachers as well as a popular collaborator and producer on albums by Lorde, Carly Rae Jepson, Lana del Rey, and Florence and the Machine, to namedrop just a few.

Antonoff previously worked with Swift to produce her albums 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore and Evermore.

But even with his successes, Antonoff has faced criticism from fans who claim he has taken artists' songs and made them all have a similar pop sound.

'Visceral Hatred'

Thousands of users took to Twitter to share their opinions, and while some doted on his production style, thousands of others said Swift's album would have been better off without Antonoff.

"I'm able to instantly detect if jack antonoff worked on a song due to a visceral hatred of his production style," user @calebgamman tweeted.

Other users wrote on Twitter that they wished the album only featured Swift's creative input.

"If someone could please do an edit of Midnights that filters out all of jack antonoff's choices id be so grateful," user @AyeshaASiddiqi wrote.

"Please, artists, I'm begging you to hire anyone but Jack Antonoff to produce your album," @Nina_Corcoran wrote.

"I would click but I took a vow not to listen to any more Jack Antonoff productions for the rest of the decade," user @dada_drummer tweeted.

"As a certified jack antonoff enjoyer I cant believe I'm saying this but I think him and taylor should stay away from each other for a bit it's getting BORING," user @gyllenhag wrote.

"Taylor Swift would just be better without Jack Antonoff," user @yaraelsoueidi tweeted.

'Album is Mindblowing'

But even with some negative reception, many Swifties were happy with the collaboration, with many taking to Twitter to personally thank Antonoff.

"The production on this album is mindblowing honestly everyone give @jackantonoff the standing ovation that he deserves!!" @zoe22happy tweeted.

"Never thought we'd get a Reputation remake and here we are.. jack antonoff thank you," user @zaneugh tweeted.

"When you see 'taylor swift and jack antonoff' you already know it's gonna be a really good song," user @soitfuckingoes wrote.

"Jack Antonoff deserves full medical dental and unlimited PTO," @holym0ses tweeted.

Past Critiques

Antonoff found himself in a similar situation back in 2021 after Lorde released her third studio album Solar Power with fans having polarizing opinions on his production.

While many fans applauded his collaboration, the release had many saying he made female artists lose their "edge" by producing pop songs with big choruses, such as Swift's "Lover," and "homogenizing" their unique sounds.
