Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 (the latter presumably, but not confirmed) won't be the last time you'll see Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Vulture has learned Samuel L Jackson will appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home (The Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel) alongside Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill.
All three characters dissolved to dust after Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War. Peter Parker died in the movie, while Maria and Fury dissolved in the post-credits scene after sending a pager message to Captain Marvel. If Spider-Man and Fury don't meet in Avengers 4, Far From Home will be their first time interacting. Of course, they'll have to de-dust first.
Captain Marvel arrives in theaters March 9 and will see a young, 90s version of Fury and Phil Coulson, both leaders of SHIELD at some point or another. Not only will comic book fans get to see how both Agents got their start at SHIELD, they're the perfect longtime MCU characters to introduce Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, to the world.
After Captain Marvel, the still untitled Avengers 4 is set for April 2019. Then it's Far From Home on July 5, which is filming now. There is still very little known about the film's plot. Jake Gyllenhaal is the villain (rumored to be Mysterio), and the film is expected to bring back stars like Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori as MJ, Ned and Flash Thompson respectively.
