Pop star Lady Gaga began her two-year Las Vegas residency on Friday with a supernatural, space themed set titled Enigma. The show takes audience members into a new, glitzy, animatronic world of Gaga's overactive imagination and embarks on an adventure with Gaga's silver-studded alien friend, Enigma, according to Rolling Stone.

From her Oscar-campaigning appearance in A Star Is Born and her last album release, Joanne, which bordered on country-classic roots, some would argue Gaga has drifted from her original, loud creativity, but critics exclaim she's returned to dramatic and entertaining angels with Enigma. Here's what we know about the super-stage show, as reported by Rolling Stone and Billboard.

Who Is Enigma?

Enigma is an alien creature who meets Gaga in her stage show. The alien, who is painted as a guardian angel figure, acts as the show's narrator, guiding the show through a series of scene changes and hit songs. Enigma and Gaga both focus on the past as a way of explaining the future, Rolling Stone revealed.

What are the most exciting stage moments?

During costume changes, Gaga is reincarnated as an anime-like version of herself. The screen inhabits a blank space in the evening, which centers around a heavily planned storyline. In Gaga-filled moments, the superstar can be seen in a variety of classic Gaga stage props, like a giant egg, hanging from the ceiling and famously playing the piano with her foot on the keys.

Gaga's sparkle-filled, technology inspired costumes also inhabit the extraterrestrial space and are said to represent what the artist does best: combine her art with fashion and create a shared idea of both story and style.

What is the setlist?

The setlist features a variety of Gaga mega hits, from "Born This Way" to "Telephone", along with a few deep cuts. A handful of the songs featured in Enigma have not been played by Gaga since 2011. The setlist leaves room for a few intermissions as well as set changes. The setlist is as reads, according to Setlist FM.
