Arsene Wenger's desire to bring French striker Alexandre Lacazette to Arsenal has seen the club prepare an improved offer of more than £34 million ($45 million).

Lyon publicly rejected Arsenal's initial offer of £29 million ($38 million) but Wenger's determination to inject more attacking qualities into his squad will see him return with an increased bid.

According to French sport newspaper L'Equipe, Arsenal is preparing to offer more than £34 million, which they expect will lure the 25-year-old striker to north London.

In the final 10 games of the Ligue 1 season, Lacazette scored 11 goals to help the club to second in the table behind Paris Saint-Germain.

Wenger is believed to be a long-term admirer of Lacazette and is conscious of bringing in a world-class striker who can play alongside or in place of Olivier Giroud.
