Thierry Henry has not ruled himself out of succeeding Arsene Wenger as the next Arsenal manager, but says he needs to learn his trade first.
Wenger is widely believed to be in the final stretch of his career with the north London club, having taken over in 1996 and is now the longest-serving current manager in the Premier League.
Henry played 258 times for Arsenal —which included a loan spell in 2012—before moving to Barcelona and New York Red Bulls in the U.S.
After calling time on his playing career, the Frenchman has moved into the studio, working for Sky Sports as a pundit, and last year was appointed as assistant manager to Roberto Martinez at Belgium.
"My name is quoted to succeed Wenger, I hear that," Henry told Canal Plus. "But it's hard for me to talk about it, I have a lot of respect for everything the coach has done.
"Am I ready? I don't know and nobody knows, but I also need to learn my job.
"I will not be a consultant all my life but coaching is not my aim."
Wenger's team is sixth in the Premier League, six points short of Liverpool in fourth but with two games to play on Jurgen Klopp's side.
With 11 games remaining of the season, Wenger's future may depend on Arsenal qualifying for the Champions League, which would require finishing in the top four places.
