Barcelona forward Neymar has embarked on a charm offensive in a bid to get fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho to join him at the Camp Nou.

Coutinho, the Liverpool midfielder, has been at Anfield since 2013 and grown into the club's most influential player over the past few seasons.

But his Brazilian teammate Neymar appears determined to see Coutinho play alongside him in Catalonia in the coming seasons.

"I would sign him (Coutinho). He's the player I see playing in Barcelona," Neymar told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

Three times in the past week Neymar has been quoted as saying Coutinho would "totally fit in [at] Barcelona."

With Barcelona boss Luis Enrique leaving his position at the end of the season, an overhaul in the squad is expected with a new manager coming in.

Reports from Spain this week have also suggested Barcelona will attempt to use midfielder Ivan Rakitić as part of the deal in a part-exchange.
