Three wins from three Premier League games doesn't appear to have satisfied new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte quite enough. For the Italian is preparing to dip into the transfer market twice before the window closes on Wednesday night.

A left-back and a combative midfielder is on the wishlist at Stamford Bridge, with Fiorentina's Marcus Alonso and Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic fitting the bill respectively.

Alonso, the 25-year-old Spaniard, has past experience in English football, including a spell at Sunderland in 2014 and Bolton Wanderers before that. An offer of £15.3 million ($20 million) has reportedly been lodged by Chelsea, but Fiorentina is looking for a sum closer to £22 million ($29 million).

Chelsea would also have to part with a further £25 million ($32.6 million) to lure Brozovic, the 23-year-old Croatian who recently completed a loan spell with Dinamo Zagreb.

The arrival of Joao Mario from Sporting Lisbon to the San Siro may open up the opportunity for Brozovic to leave for west London.

With Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante already arriving at the club for a combined total of £64 million ($84 million), the two possible additions would take Chelsea's spending to more than £30 million ($170 million).

Despite the interest in adding to his squad, Conte will be pleased with Chelsea's perfect start to the new Premier League campaign.

The fixture list becomes trickier after the international break, however, with Liverpool visitors to Stamford Bridge followed by trips to Leicester City and Arsenal.
