Antonio Conte wants greater influence in Chelsea's transfer activity before signing a contract extension at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
The Italian has only been in west London for nine months but has overachieved, as he looks set to guide Chelsea to the Premier League title in his first year at the helm. The board is looking to reward Conte with a new deal.
Four players have been signed by the club since Conte took charge—N'Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso, Michy Batshuayi and David Luiz — but only the French midfielder was specifically requested.
According to The Times, Conte was disappointed to see Chelsea sell the experienced Oscar, Branislav Ivanovic and John Obi Mikel in January, and has therefore asked for greater control on arrivals and departures.
Conte is believed to want at least four new signings in the summer as he looks to prepare Chelsea for competing both domestically and in Europe next season.
