NBA Rumors: Can LeBron James Convince Eric Bledsoe to Join Cavs This Summer?

The offseason may have been turbulent for LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers so far, but the four-time NBA MVP may be looking to remedy the situation by bringing one of his friends to Cleveland, according to ESPN.

With Kyrie Irving heading for the exit in Cleveland, the Cavs will be on the lookout for a new point guard this summer—which is where James steps in.

James is spending this week in Las Vegas, Nevada, working out with Derrick Rose and Phoenix Suns point guard Eric Bledsoe. The meetup has prompted rumors within the NBA that Bledsoe, who has been with the Suns since 2013, could end up as part of a new-look Cavs team next season.

If Irving agrees to a move to Phoenix, which seems possible, a trade move could be on. Earlier this week Bledsoe said he was happy in Arizona, but confessed he was also attracted by the prospect of challenging for the NBA championship.

"I love everything about [the Phoenix area]," Bledsoe told The Arizona Republic. "At the same time, I want to win."

The Suns finished last in the Western Conference last season with a record of 24-58, but Bledsoe stood out as the star of the team. The 27-year-old averaged 21.1 points, 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds, compared with Irving's 25.2 points, 3.2 assists and 5.8 rebounds in a stronger team.

James's week with Bledsoe could end up being a scouting mission. What happens in Vegas might not end up staying in Vegas.
