Leicester City is looking to improve its attacking options ahead of next season by bidding £30 million for Watford striker Troy Deeney.

Suggestions that star striker Jamie Vardy may remain at the King Power Stadium, despite Arsenal activating the release clause in his contract, made for a positive start to the summer for the Premier League champions.

But the Foxes are keen to improve qualities upfront ahead of the club's league title defense next season by luring Deeney away from the Hornets.

According to The Times, Leicester has returned to Watford with a higher bid for the 27-year-old striker after its original £25 million offer had been rejected.

Leicester vice chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha insisted in May that the club was under no pressure to sell players and would "try everything" to hold onto them.

Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri has also urged his players to remain with him for at least one more season after their remarkable title-winning year.

Despite interest in prominent players, such as Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante, Leicester has managed to hold onto its players so far this summer.
