Mamadou Sakho's future at Anfield is in doubt after the defender was ordered to return home from Liverpool's pre-season tour of America by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp is believed to have run out of patience with the French defender on at least two occasions during the club's visit to California, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Sakho, 26, is alleged to have been late to Liverpool's flight to the United States and to have interrupted an interview Klopp was taking part in with the club website last week.

The club has confirmed Sakho's departure from the club's pre-season tour but declined to comment further.

He will now receive treatment to an achilles injury at Liverpool's Melwood training base.
