Philippe Coutinho has hailed the impact of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield for bringing a "winning mentality" to league leaders Liverpool.

The 24-year-old is the most creative cog in Klopp's attacking trio on Merseyside that also comprises Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Coutinho, who has been linked with a move away from Anfield, says his German manager has brought belief to the squad alongside high-intensity training.

"The coach has brought this winning mentality. He emphasises it a lot," Coutinho told Liverpool's official website.

"He gives confidence to the players. I think we now believe more in our own potential and that has made us better on the field. Since he has arrived, he has implemented his own ideas.

"Of course, week by week, we train and practice depending on our next opponent. But he always demands the same thing: hard work with a lot of dedication."

Liverpool faces Southampton at St Mary's on Saturday as Klopp's side looks to retain its place at the top of the Premier League.
