Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has thrown Daniel Sturridge's future at Anfield into further doubt after refusing to rule out a departure at the end of the season.

Sturridge, 27, has been at Liverpool for four years now, but is struggling to get into Klopp's first-team on Merseyside, having not completed 90 minutes in the Premier League this season.

The England striker has enjoyed prolific seasons at Anfield, especially under Brendan Rodgers in 2013/14, but his future at the club is uncertain.

"I have no idea what happens in the summer," Klopp said, as quoted by The Times. "It is not only Daniel, but a lot of players. Daniel was not in training for eight or nine days because of a virus infection.

"We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible.

"A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time."

Sturridge moved to Liverpool in 2013 from Chelsea after failing to cement a position in the first-team at Stamford Bridge.

Before then, the Birmingham-born striker made a name for himself on loan at Bolton after developing through the Manchester City academy.

Liverpool hosts Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday in poor form, having won just once in seven games in all competitions.
