Former Liverpool and West Ham defender Rigobert Song is reportedly fighting for his life after suffering a stroke.
According to French publication L'Equipe, 40-year-old Song was rushed to hospital in Yaounde in his home country of Cameroon after falling ill at his home, and is now said to be in a coma.
Song moved to the Premier League in 1999, joining Liverpool from Metz for £2.7 million ($3.5 million) but only ended up making 34 appearances at Anfield before joining West Ham.
Again, the former Cameroon international only featured 24 times for the London club before heading for Lens in the French league in 2002.
Song, who is head coach of Chad's national team, finished his career playing in Turkey for Trabzonspor. He made 137 appearances for Cameroon.
