West Ham manager Slaven Bilic believes Pep Guardiola's players are suffering from a lack of confidence ahead of Manchester City's trip to London on Friday.
Guardiola's Manchester City meets West Ham at the London Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup after struggling to find consistency in the Premier League over the festive period.
"After you have three or four wins on the trot then the opponent may be pressing you but you are not scared," Bilic said.
"OK, you can occasionally lose the ball but you don't care. At the end of the day, it's the plan.
"But after you make some mistakes and it ends in defeat then you think twice about it. You try again but you are not that confident any more. It's like a chain."
Manchester City has slipped from first in the Premier League table to fourth, seven points behind leaders Chelsea.
