Manchester United outcast Bastian Schweinsteiger could be on his way to China or the American league after insisting he will not leave Old Trafford for another European club.

The 32-year-old, cast out of the United first-team by manager Jose Mourinho after just a year since his move from Bayern Munich, took to social media to make a statement about his future.

"MUFC will be my last club in Europe," Schweinsteiger wrote on his Twitter account. "I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich.

"I will be ready, if the team needs me. This is all I can say about the current situation. I want to thank the fans for the amazing support over the recent weeks."

The statement leaves the German open to the option of moving to America's Major League Soccer (MLS) to play or to the Chinese league, often the preference of players later in their careers.
