Jose Mourinho's long-term dispute with Arsene Wenger will see Manchester United reject any offer from Arsenal for Phil Jones, according to reports.

The 24-year-old defender is out-of-favor at Old Trafford and United may be willing to offload him, but selling to Wenger is not an option for Mourinho.

Arsenal has enquired about the availability of Jones but Mourinho would not allow him to be sold to his bitter rival, according to the Evening Standard. Stoke City is also believed to have shown interest in signing the English center-back.

Three years ago, former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said Jones could go on to be one of the best players in the club's history.

But he has fallen down the pecking order at United after this summer's arrival of Ivorian Eric Bailly, who has partnered Dutchman Daley Blind at center-half.

Mourinho is believed to see a future for Jones at the club but he is unlikely to play frequently as Southampton defender Jose Fonte has also been linked with a move to United.
