Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin could be the subject of a trade deal in his Old Trafford exit, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager, has said Schneiderlin will be free to leave the club in the January transfer window but is believed to be interested in a trade with Marseille for Lassana Diarra.
The French midfielder, now 31, came up through the ranks at Chelsea during Mourinho's first stint at Stamford Bridge and was also signed by the Portuguese at Real Madrid.
Diarra has been with Marseille since the summer of 2015.
Manchester United has already rejected a bid from Everton for Schneiderlin but is expecting the Merseysiders to return with an improved offer.
