Jose Mourinho believes his Manchester United team is out of the Premier League title race after falling 12 points behind leader Chelsea.
Manchester United is currently on a 16-game unbeaten run, having struggled in Mourinho's first few months in charge at Old Trafford.
But despite the club's current record, which includes nine consecutive victories, the Portuguese boss said catching up with Chelsea looks out of reach.
"Top, I think, is very difficult," Mourinho said.
"But if we can do well in many competitions, in the end we can consider our season good. And if we can consider our season good, even if we don't win the title, that is a good step."
Manchester United, sixth in the Premier League table, travels to Stoke City on Saturday.
