The future of Europe's most exciting prospect leads the way in today's transfer round-up.

Kylian Mbappe, the 18-year-old starlet from Monaco, has drawn headlines all season after propelling the Ligue 1 team to the Champions League semifinal, and now the headlines are about where he's off to next—and for how much.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly been on the phone to one of his players who has asked him to help push along a move out of Old Trafford, while Tottenham has picked up its activity in the transfer market this Friday morning. Here, Newsweek takes you through all that and more.

Matteo Darmian, the Italian defender, phoned Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and asked him to help him leave the club, according to The Sun. Darmian, the 27-year-old Italian, wants to return to his country of birth in an attempt to play in next year's World Cup, and he wants to play for Serie A champion Juventus.

Mourinho has already seen a player leave the club in the last 24 hours as Real Sociedad agreed a £10 million ($12.7 million) fee for 22-year-old Belgian winger Adnan Januzaj, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsene Wenger is hoping to improve his squad this summer, and his goal is to convince Kylian Mbappe to join him at Arsenal from Monaco. According to The Daily Telegraph, the 18-year-old is open to the prospect of moving to the Emirates Stadium and the Metro say Arsenal is willing to pay a world-record sum for Mbappe. The club does, however, have competition for the player from Paris Saint Germain, according to The Mirror, and the Ligue 1 club has already offered a world-record £119 million for Mbappe.

Just a few miles across north London, Tottenham Hotspur has had a quiet summer so far, but today that seems to be changing. Talksport say Mauricio Pochettino's club has made contact with Fiorentina in a move to sign 25-year-old midfielder Matias Vecino, while The Sun say the club is preparing a £17.5 million offer for Schalke winger Max Meyer.

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of Europe's most sought after players. Liverpool is one of the club's said to be interested in the 28-year-old, but according to Bild via The Independent, it would cost Jurgen Klopp's team £63 million to be able to bring the Gambian forward to Anfield.

And, finally, Premier League champion Chelsea is yet to make a signing this summer, buy Antonio Conte has told the club he wants that to change. According to The Guardian, Conte wants the club to sign either Italian center back Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus or Southampton's Virgil van Dijk.
