Zlatan Ibrahimovic has backed fellow Swede Victor Lindelof to be a success at Manchester United, should he make the move from Benfica to Old Trafford.

Center-back Lindelof has been linked with a £38m ($47m) transfer to Manchester United after impressing in the Portuguese league. Lindelof has played alongside Ibrahimovic for the Swedish national team, and the 35-year-old striker believes he is ready for a big club in europe.

"He is growing. He has a lot of responsibility with the national team now," Ibrahimovic said.

"Is he good enough for United? I think he is ready for the big clubs out there. It is up to him what he wants and what the situation says. Whatever he chooses, it will be good for him.

"I know he is hot on the market, so let him make the right choice for him."

Ibrahimovic has had a strong start to life in Manchester after signing for the club in the summer on a one-year deal.

He has scored 16 times in 25 games for Jose Mourinho's side, including critical goals in recent wins over Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion.
