Real Madrid will reportedly test the resolve of Chelsea by tabling a world-record £100 million ($126 million) bid for Eden Hazard this summer.
The La Liga giant has made contact with Chelsea over the signing of Belgian forward Hazard over the past two seasons, according to Spanish newspaper Marca, but will now reignite its interest.
Hazard, the 2015 Player of the Year, looks to be guiding Chelsea to the Premier League title for the second time in three years, and his qualities have caught the eye of Real boss Zinedine Zidane.
According to the Daily Mail, Real will be prepared to offer a world-record sum to Chelsea in order to lure Hazard away from the west London club.
The transfer record was set at £89 million ($112 million) last summer when Manchester United brought Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford from Juventus.
Chelsea has not yet received an offer for Hazard and the Daily Mail says it has no intention of letting the 26-year-old leave Stamford Bridge.
