Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been the subject of a bid from the Chinese Super League, according to the owner of Tianjin Quanjian.
Shu Yuhui revealed his intentions to sign French striker Benzema from the La Liga club while speaking to Chinese TV.
"Our club had a massive investment plan for the new season but it was tightened up by new rules," Yuhui told Tianjin Sports Channel. The Chinese Football Association has confirmed it will set a limit for the number of foreign players a club can have from next season.
Yuhui added: "We need an out-and-out striker so we made a bid for Benzema." He also revealed a bid had been made for Monaco striker Radamel Falcao.
