In an appearance on HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher Friday, Stormy Daniel's lawyer Michael Avenatti claimed that a DVD of evidence of Daniels' affair with President Donald Trump is "locked and loaded."
In the comments about the DVD on the online-only Overtime segment of the show, Avenatti was quizzed about a mysterious DVD he had tweeted a picture of with the message If "a picture is worth a thousand words," how many words is this worth?????"
Avenatti has described the picture of the DVD as a "warning shot" to Trump.
Maher asked whether he would ever "release the contents of the warning-shot disc of evidence you tweeted about."
"Possibly. It depends how the case progresses," he replied.
Maher then pressed, "What's on it?"
"Well, we took that picture and we tweeted it out and it was exactly that—it was a warning shot to Michael Cohen and the president that if they tried to claim that my client was a liar after 60 Minutes there was gonna be consequences, and it worked, and it worked perfectly because we heard nothing from them," said Avenatti."
In an appearance on CBS News' 60 Minutes in March, Daniels claimed that she had an affair with President Trump in 2011, and said she was threatened after agreeing to sell a story about their tryst.
After a composite sketch was released week last of the man who Daniels alleges threatened her, Trump in a tweet described her claims as a "total con job."
Trump fixer and attorney Michael Cohen allegedly paid Daniels, whose real name in Stephanie Clifford, to keep silent about the affair. Trump has denied knowing about the payment.
Avenatti was also asked his views on revelations earlier in the week that Cohen has also worked for Fox News host Sean Hannity.
"Here's what I think: I think that when the documents actually come out, and there are documents — there's no question in my mind, there are documents with Sean Hannity's name on them — the extent of that relationship, when it finally surfaces, I think will be very embarrassing to Sean Hannity," Avenatti said.
Hannity has claimed that Cohen merely advised him on a real estate query.
Earlier, Avenatti had described Cohen as a "zero."
"I think that Michael Cohen knows where almost all the bodies are buried, and I think that he's going to sing like a canary," said Avenatti. "I know he's going to fold, because here's the problem, when you have a fixer, you need two things at least: you need a guy who is tough, and you need a guy that is smart. This guy is neither tough nor smart. I think he's a zero."
Earlier in April, FBI agents reportedly seeking information on the Daniels payout raided Cohen's New York office. The Justice Department said that Cohen has been "under criminal investigation" for months for his business dealings.
