Taylor Swift Just Beat Out Boyfriend Travis Kelce for This Award

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Taylor Swift beat boyfriend Travis Kelce in the Webby Awards, where they both contended for an award in the same category of Best Creator or Influencer Collaboration, Features (Social).

Swift won the award for her collaboration with National Voter Registration Day and Vote.org, while Kelce was nominated for his partnership with The Cheesecake Factory on "Fashion Icons."

Despite hailing from different realms of entertainment — Swift in music and Kelce in sports — they found themselves vying for the same award. While Kelce faced defeat at the hands of his girlfriend in this category, he clinched victory in two People's Voice Awards, alongside his brother, for best co-hosts and best video series for their New Heights podcast, both decided by public vote.

This dynamic duo wasn't alone in their triumph at the Webby Awards on Tuesday. Olivia Rodrigo's album GUTS secured victory in the Celebrity/Fan, General Social (Social) category, Michelle Obama claimed the win for The Light Podcast in the Best Series, Features (Podcasts) category, and Timothée Chalamet snagged wins for his campaign ad for Apple TV+ across three distinct categories.

The Webby Awards recognize the excellence on the Internet and includes 9 categories in different media types: Websites and Mobile Sites, Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Apps & Software, Social, Podcasts, Games, and AI, Metaverse & Virtual.

While the winners have been revealed, the celebrations will take place at a ceremony hosted by Amber Ruffin at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on Monday, May 13. Highlights of the event will be shared on the @TheWebbyAwards Instagram and TikTok accounts.

"This year's Webby Winners represent work at the cutting edge of creativity and innovation," Claire Graves, president of the Webby Awards, told The Hollywood Reporter. "They are best-in-class creators, entrepreneurs and companies who are taking giant strides to make something entirely new to entertain, help or inform people through the Internet."
