Taylor Swift's Bracelet Message Goes Viral

Taylor Swift's dad has been accused of assaulting a paparazzi while in Australia but Swifties have come out in support of the singer's father, with one fan making a friendship bracelet to commemorate the alleged incident.

The pop superstar has just wrapped up the Australian leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour. She completed a series of shows in Melbourne from February 16 to 18, where she played to 96,000 people at each of the three concerts. She then performed sold-out shows in Sydney, New South Wales, from February 23 to 26.

After Taylor Swift finished her shows Down Under, a photographer alleged that Scott Swift assaulted him at a ferry wharf in Sydney after the singer and her entourage disembarked from a luxury yacht at about 2.30 am.

Footage from the moments before the alleged altercation showed Scott walking up the wharf while giving photographers the middle finger.

New South Wales police, who are investigating, said in a statement: "A 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2:30 a.m. (Tuesday 27 February 2024), before leaving the location.

"The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command. The man did not require medical treatment."

A spokesperson for Taylor Swift told Newsweek in a statement: "Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water."

Newsweek contacted North Shore Police Area Command via their website for comment on Tuesday.

Now one Taylor Swift fan has shared the friendship bracelet she made in honor of the singer's dad. Friendship bracelets have become synonymous with Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour, with the idea coming from her song "You're on Your Own, Kid" from her album Midnights. The lyrics in the song are: "So, make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it."

X user (formerly Twitter) @BejewelryB shared a photo of the bracelet, which reads: "Killa Scott." At the time of writing, the post had 111,900 views.

The bracelet is in reference to Travis Kelce's Instagram handle, which is @KillaTrav. The footballer, who went public with his relationship with the singer in September, previously said he has been known as Killa Trav since he was 9 years old.

People have taken to the comments to share their love for the bracelet.

"This is the most appropriate time to bring up this bracelet," one person wrote.

"Hahaha love it! Gotta make myself one," said another.

A third added: "I love this bracelet for Scott Swift! #TaylorSwiftFans."

Scott Swift was trending on X after the alleged assault, with Swifties sharing their support for him.

"Scott Swift protecting his daughter from paparazzi. Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In this house we stan Scott Swift," one X user posted.

"Listen, i know that mature people will say that violence is never the answer but i'm just a teenage girl in my thirties and if scott swift thought you needed your face punched, i'm gonna have to agree with him," another person wrote.

Someone else added: "Personally i think scott swift should be legally allowed a minimum of 1 punch per pap walk idk."

This isn't the first time sections of the Australian media has been called into question by fans who haven't been impressed by how they've been treating Taylor Swift and Kelce.

The couple visited Sydney Zoo together and were spotted petting a kangaroo. However, fans slammed the media for using a helicopter to take pictures and videos of the pair during their visit. When Kelce landed in Sydney on a private jet from Hawaii to join his girlfriend, breakfast news program Today shared a video of his arrival. Fans were upset by the helicopter footage being aired on television.

Taylor Swift's next stop on her Eras Tour is on March 2 in Singapore, where she will perform six shows.
