Ice Spice, Taylor Swift Super Bowl Photo Becomes Instant Meme

A photo of Taylor Swift with Ice Spice as she supported her boyfriend Travis Kelce during Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII has become a viral hit on social media and sparked a series of memes.

Following a nail-biting showdown, Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs squeezed a 25-22 victory in overtime over the San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. The back-to-back win gave Kelce his third Super Bowl ring.

After jetting in from Japan, where she had performed on her Eras Tour the day before, Swift was on hand to cheer on Chiefs tight end Kelce. She was joined by an entourage of friends that included "Karma" collaborator Ice Spice, actress Blake Lively, and Hollywood stylist Ashley Avignone.

With many eyes on Swift's every move as she watched her beau and his teammates fight for their win, a number of moments from the game have gone viral, including the singer's post-victory kiss with Kelce.

One photo in particular has become an instant viral hit. It shows Swift and Avignone appearing to be taken in by the action on the field, while Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, looks a tad nonplussed. Behind them is Kelce's mom, Donna Kelce, and the athlete's NFL star brother, Jason Kelce.

While the Kelces are pumping their fists, Swift is open-mouthed, with her hair raised.

The photo, which as of press time has been viewed more than 3 million times on X, formerly Twitter, was captioned: "This looks like one of those pictures you get on a roller coaster."

The caption reflected the views of a number of other social-media users, who shared their edited versions of the viral photo.

"Has anyone done this yet?" asked an X user, as they shared the photo of Swift, her friends and the Kelces edited to appear as though they were on a rollercoaster.

Giving the image a special touch, it was further styled to appear as though it was a Splash Mountain theme-park souvenir photo. The image has also been viewed 3 million times.

In much the same vein, another social-media user edited the group to appear as though they were aboard Disney's Hollywood Tower Hotel ride.

Thanks to having the most-dramatic look of all in the group, Swift also got some individual meme treatment.

Making the most of Swift's hair-raised look, an X user put the pop star on her own rollercoaster, without her entourage of friends.

Meanwhile, a video went viral on X that showed Swift appearing to explain the rules during the high-stakes football game on Sunday.

"She has no idea what's going on, I'm crying," a Swift fan wrote of Ice Spice.

As of press time, the video has been viewed more than 3.9 million times.

Ice Spice previously revealed how she first became friendly with Swift after watching the singer's 2020 documentary Miss Americana.

"What I took away from Taylor's documentary is you really do need to work hard, and not everything is going to be as easy as it seems," Ice Spice told Variety magazine in an interview published in September. "My manager heard me talking about that and had reached out to her team, and then they had a song for me."

In May 2023, the pair released their "Karma" remix track and its accompanying video. That month, Ice Spice also joined Swift onstage during a stop on her hugely successful Eras Tour.

Swift has also had kind words to share about Ice Spice. "I relate to Ice in many ways, but I think her dedication and focus is what blew me away from the very start," she told Variety. "She's extremely professional without being cold. Playful and fun without ever taking her eye off the prize.

"She knows what is and isn't 'her' and sets those boundaries with grace. She studies the industry and other artists' careers but is very clear about charting her own definitive, original path. It's her ability to carefully find that balance that impresses the hell out of me."
