Taylor Swift's Reaction to Travis Kelce's Gala Speech Goes Viral Thanks to a Lip Reader

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

It looks like Taylor Swift may have once again got the ick from Travis Kelce, according to fans.

One lip reader analyzed the singer's reaction to Kelce's now-iconic Elvis impersonation — a bit of his rendition of "Viva Las Vegas" — which the Kansas City Chiefs star once again broke out at teammate Patrick Mahomes' 15 and the Mahomies Foundation gala over the weekend.

"That again. I can't do it," Swift joked in response to Kelce singing into the mic, according to the Swiftie lip reader.

Fans immediately took to the comments section of the lip reader's Instagram video to joke about Swift's reaction.

"If he doesnt make you cringe its not true love 😂," one person commented.

"Tay is just out here representing all of us with a corny boyfriend 😂," another user wrote.

"Corny cringy boyfriends are the ones that make the best husbands ❤️," a third fan said.

"NOBODY BETTER COME FOR HER SHES JUST TEASING AND ITS SO CUTE," wrote another follower in all-caps.

In addition to bursting into song at the Sin City gala on Saturday, April 27, Kelce also sang the tune after winning the Super Bowl in Las Vegas earlier this year, where Swift's reaction was caught on camera. The Tortured Poets Department artist had a tight-lipped smile on her face, which many felt was her cringing. In fact, fans declared the whole moment as Swift instantly getting the ick.

"Taylor just got the ick in real time 😭😭😭," one viewer wrote via X (formerly known as Twitter) at the time.

"Travis Kelce screaming 'viva Las Vegas' visibly giving Taylor Swift the ick #SuperBowl," another person penned.

"We all witnessed Taylor getting the ick in 4K! 🤣 ," tweeted a third user.

While Swift hasn't directly addressed any of the "ick" commentary, if TTPD fan theories are to be believed, she's admitted to feeling like a teenager with a crush in her relationship with Kelce.

On the TTPD track "So High School" — Swift also wrote "The Alchemy" about her relationship with Kelce, according to fan lore — she sings, "I feel so high school every time I look at you / I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you."

"And in a blink of a crinklin' eye, I'm sinkin', our fingers entwined / Cheeks pink in the twinklin' lights, tell me 'bout the first time you saw me," she echoes on the chorus. "I'll drink what you think and I'm high / From smokin' your jokes all damn night / The brink of a wrinkle in time / Bittersweet sixteen suddenly."

Travis, for his part, previously shared his awe at dating Swift while speaking to brother Jason Kelce on their "New Heights" podcast last month.

"I don't know how I did it because she isn't — she was not into sports. So I don't know how the f*** I did it," Travis quipped, before dead-panning: "No, 100 percent, I know exactly how I did it."
