Meghan McCain has never met Taylor Swift, but that didn't stop The View co-host from asking the singer for a favor on Thursday. McCain tweeted Swift and asked her to grant a fan's biggest wish by meeting her at Swift's concert in Philadelphia.
Retweeting the Twitter account @youthlexie, McCain shared the story of a young girl identified only as Lexi, who was diagnosed with the same type of brain cancer McCain's father, Senator John McCain, suffers from. Lexi's best friend originally wrote the tweet asking Swift to make Lexi's dream come true by meeting with her when they attend her Reputation Tour on July 14. Meghan McCain, who boasts some 471,000 followers on Twitter, lent her support and star status in hopes of getting a response from Swift.
"Hey @taylorswift13 – we have never met, but anyway can you meet Lexi at your concert in Philly? She is fighting the same #glioblastoma cancer my father has and this would make both of our days!" Meghan McCain wrote.
Meghan McCain went on to tweet Lexi directly and said that she would try to help her as much as she could. "My entire family is here in this fight with you Lexi. And let's see what we can do about meeting Taylor Swift… I am going to do my best!" she wrote.
Although it's unclear if Swift has seen the tweet, hundreds of Meghan McCain's followers did and have since she started campaigning for 28-year-old Swift to meet with Lexi.
Over the years, Swift has made dozens of fans' dreams come true, particularly those suffering from health ailments.
The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer granted a 4-year-old's final wish in March 2015, according to a USA Today report. Jalene Salinas was suffering from terminal brain cancer and only wanted to dance with Swift to her hit song "Shake it Off," but her illness prevented her from walking. So instead, Swift called the little girl via FaceTime and chatted with her for 20 minutes. Salinas died nearly two weeks after her phone call with Swift.
