Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Sweet Christmas Moment Caught on Camera

A photo of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce walking hand-in-hand after the Kansas City Chiefs lost their Christmas Day game has been posted online.

It is safe to say that one of the most significant celebrity couples that started dating this year comes in the form of the pop sensation and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. The couple made their first public appearance in September when Swift attended a Chiefs game alongside her new beau's mom, Donna Kelce, who has proven to be a passionate Swiftie in her own right.

Swift has been a fixture at Kelce's games and when the Chiefs lost 20-14 at Arrowhead Stadium to the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, Swift was right by his side. In the first quarter, the Raiders surprised the Kansas City team by scoring on two Chiefs turnovers in a span of seven seconds. The Chiefs made it close in the end but were unable to make a complete comeback, falling to 9-6 on the season.

Following the game, Kansas City Star photojournalist Nick Wagner posted a picture of Swift and Kelce holding hands in an Arrowhead Stadium corridor to social media. "Spent my Christmas waiting for these two lovebirds," Wagner captioned the post on his Instagram Story. He also uploaded the same snap to his Instagram feed where he captioned it: "Merry Swiftmas to all who celebrate."

Newsweek reached out to representatives for Swift and Kelce for comment via email Tuesday.

Swift didn't attend the game alone, as she brought her parents, Andrea and Scott Swift, along. In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, by @swifferupdates, they can be seen getting into a VIP golf cart alongside another special guest: her brother, Austin Swift, dressed up as Santa Claus. He carried a sack and wore a special Chiefs hat for the occasion. At the time of writing, the clip had over 239,000 views.

Another video showed Swift walking inside the stadium with Austin, still dressed as Santa, on her heels ringing a bell and carrying a sack of presents.

During the game, Swift was seen passionately cheering Kelce on. In one video posted by X user @moonlithoax, you can see her yelling "Travis. Oh my god!" The video has since gone viral and at the time of writing, it had received more than 237,000 views.

Swift's excitement was palpable during the game. Another video on X shows Swift pulling out a festive holiday bell and ringing it around while screaming in support of her boyfriend and his team.

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was also in attendance. She shared a sweet snap of herself and her daughter standing with Swift in the Chiefs VIP suite on her Instagram Story.

While they were all smiles at the beginning, by the end of the game Swift was left having to comfort Brittany Mahomes after Patrick Mahomes struggled throughout the loss. She was likely affected by her husband's visible frustration as cameras caught quarterback Mahomes looking misty-eyed on the sidelines. Brittany Mahomes looked visibly upset after the result, putting her hands to her face as Swift rubbed her shoulder.

Swift and Brittany Mahomes quickly became friends after cheering on their NFL partners during the Kansas City Chiefs' recent games and made headlines for their secret handshake.

Wearing matching red Santa hats for the Christmas Day game—Taylor's with an "87" and Brittany's with a "15"—in honor of their respective partner's jersey numbers, the new pals further solidified their growing connection.

Patrick Mahomes even sang Swift's praises and raved about her friendship with his wife in an interview with CBS Mornings in the days leading up to the game on Christmas Day.

"At first, I felt like everybody kind of stayed away, just let him do what he was doing. Then he started bringing Taylor around and he realized how cool of a person she was, and she is," he said on Friday. "So for us, there was a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning, but now, it's just—she's a part of Chiefs kingdom and she's part of the team."

He continued: "He's lucky enough to be with a great girl—a great woman—it's been cool to interact with her because she's top tier at her profession and see how she drives and [how] she becomes that.

"Dude, it's really cool to hear about and to see, and now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis' eyes."

He even detailed his wife's bond with the singer: "It's cool that she's embraced Brittany, and they've built a friendship as well."

In a recent interview with Time, Swift revealed she first started dating Kelce in July after he attended one of her concerts and then spoke about it on his podcast with his brother and Philadelphia Eagles player, Jason Kelce.

"This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell," she said. "We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I'm grateful for because we got to get to know each other."

She continued: "By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date."

The pop sensation has attended numerous games since and on November 11, Kelce was spotted at Swift's Eras Tour show in Buenos Aires next to the singer's dad, Scott Swift, in the VIP tent.

Correction 12/27/2023, 4:10 a.m. ET: This article was updated to clarify Brittany Mahomes was pictured with her only daughter.
