Update: 3:09 p.m.—The issues TD Bank customers using the website and app were facing Monday were resolved by the afternoon the bank said. "This afternoon, we restored access to online and mobile banking by resolving intermittent login issues that impacted some of our customers earlier today. We want to thank our customers for their patience as we addressed this issue as quickly as possible," TD Bank told Newsweek.

Original story:

Some TD Bank customers were having a hard time accessing their accounts on Monday morning when the app and website appeared to be suffering an outage. Customers were reporting they were seeing a message while trying to load the website that said, "This is an English 500 error."

The issues seemed to span both the website and the app and users were tweeting about the problems they were experiencing. Reports of the issues were also appearing on the website Down Detector with online banking, login and mobile banking listed as the top issues.

"We are investigating this issue, which is not related to our recent successful upgrade. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible," TD Bank told Newsweek.

The TD Bank Twitter account was responding to some users who were asking about the apparent outage though. "We have been alerted to an online system outage. TD Bank Online Banking and the Mobile Application are currently unavailable. We will pass along any information as we receive it. We are sorry for the inconvenience," said the response from the bank to one user.

Some users were worried because they had bills to pay.

@TDBank_US what's up with your online app? Impossible to login and bills to pay.

On Twitter, the bank responded to another user and said there were intermittent issues with log in happening and that they were in the process of fixing it.

We apologize as there is currently an intermittent issue with logging in, we are working to correct this issue. ^TA

The bank told another customer that there was no estimated time for when things might be up and running in a normal fashion again.

We have not yet received an estimated time for the system to be available. We will provide information as we receive it. ^DE
