Tekashi 6ix9ine Update: Three Associates Indicted, One Pinned as Gunman

Three known associates of Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, have received federal indictments, according to a Wednesday TMZ report.

Kintea McKenzie, Anthony Ellison and Demard Butler were indicted in connection to the June shooting of rapper Chief Keef. More specifically, Tekashi reportedly pinned McKenzie as the alleged gunman to investigators.

McKenzie was allegedly paid $10,000 to shoot Keef, according to TMZ's law enforcement sources. It was reported that Tekashi had a problem with Keef leading about to the shooting in Times Square.

Two men, including a known Tekashi associate, tracked down the "Love Sosa" rapper and opened fire–but missed.

Currently, McKenzie has not been arrested by police; however, Ellison and Butler are already in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday afternoon.

Ellison was already in custody for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting Tekashi in July after the 22-year-old was driving home from work on a music video. Butler was busted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old rapper faces a minimum of 32 years in federal prison on racketeering and firearm charges. Tekashi maintains his innocence.

Tekashi's lawyer was removed from his case Tuesday due to a potential conflict of interest, according to a Complex report.

Lance Lazzaro had served as the rapper's main representative in his case on charges of racketeering conspiracy, firearms offenses and other crimes. Judge Paul A. Engelmayer learned Lazzaro served as a previous attorney for co-defendant Kifano "Shotti" Jordan—Tekashi 6ix9ine's former manager and one of the seven other men charged in connection to the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods—and he ordered him off the case.

Although all minor charges, Lazzaro worked as Jordan's attorney in four separate cases between 2004 to 2015. Jordan received a misdemeanor in one of the cases while the other three were dismissed.

Tekashi denied involvement in Nine Trey, a New York-based gang, which was cited for murder, drug trafficking and armed robbery in the federal indictment.

The Brooklyn-based rapper still has attorney Dawn Florio, who signed onto his case shortly after his arrest in November. He will remain in prison until trial, dated for September.

His girlfriend, who goes by the name Jade, posted the first photo of jailed Tekashi earlier this month. Dressed in a prison jumpsuit, Jade is seen hugging and kissing the 22-year-old on the cheek along with #FreeDanny.
