Durte Dom Boasts About Tesla Jump Crash Video: 'LAPD Didn't Like My Stunt'

The TikTok star apparently behind a Tesla crash stunt that has sparked a police manhunt has boasted about the incident making the news and seemingly identified himself as the driver.

Well-known YouTuber Durte Dom has gloated about his involvement in his attempt to pull off a dangerously high-speed stunt the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles over the weekend, which resulted in a collision with two parked cars.

The Los Angeles Police Department has said the driver, who fled the scene, will face hit-and-run charges when he or she is finally identified.

Footage of the stunt, which authorities said happened just after midnight on Sunday, has gone viral and amassed millions of views on social media.

In the viral video, the rented black 2018 Tesla S-BLM speeds through an intersection and is momentarily airborne going down a hill before it crashes into two parked vehicles and several trash cans.

Context creator Dominykas Zeglaitis, more commonly known as Durte Dom, shared the footage to his TikTok and later boasted about the stunt making it to the news.

In one video, the social media star displays a tweet from a news outlet reporting the incident with the caption: "LAPD didn't like my stunt."

In the video's description, he added: "yall better pay my bail."

Zeglaitis has also since uploaded another TikTok showing a news report about the stunt and said in a voiceover: "We made it on the news" along with a laughing emoji.

No bystanders were injured during the stunt and Zeglaitis is reportedly uninjured, however, the vehicle was completely wrecked.

A reward of $1,000 was made available to anyone who has information about the dangerous stunt with LAPD detective Juan Campos, who told KTLA that the stunt "should never have been done."

"I don't know what they were thinking about, they could have gotten somebody killed," Detective Campos told the outlet.

"These kids were just running up аnd down the hill," locаl resident Cliff Mаrgretа told CW аffiliаte KTLA. "Three Teslаs followed, аnd they were essentiаlly jumping from one Teslа to the next."

According to Statista, Tesla held 14.55 percent of the world's electric vehicles market share in the first half of 2021, with more than 420,000 units sold.

At the start of this year, in another incident involving a Tesla, a 74-year-old man died when his vehicle was involved in a crash after it lost power in the central lane of a highway in Missouri, according to police.

In a Facebook update at the time, the local police identified the victim as Terry L. Siegel, a resident of Lake Winnebago, in Cass County southeast of Kansas City. Police said Siegel had been inside a 2019 Tesla at the time of the crash.

It is not yet known if Zeglaitis has been approached or spoken to by the police.
