3 MoviePass Alternatives If You Want To Join A Different Discount Film Subscription

MoviePass, a once-beloved service which allows moviegoers to see a variety of movies in the theater for just a monthly price, has recently been plagued with user problems, lawsuits and stock failings. The service, which is struggling to keep itself above water, also announced a change to limit users to seeing only three movies a month on August 6.

Many loyal users of the pass have canceled subscriptions. Here are some alternatives to the MoviePass brand that will allow you to see in theater movies for a discount.

Sinemia

Sinemia offers a variety of movie viewing options, suitable for any lifestyle. Selections for a yearly or monthly subscription are available, as are "Elite" and "Classic" plans. The Classic plan allows viewers to screen either one or two movies per month, depending on the plan they chose. All plans come with "no blackout days," meaning pass holders can go to the theater any day and time they'd like. Passholders can also reserve tickets as soon as tickets for the show are on sale.

Elite plans allow viewers to screen 3D and IMAX movies for no extra cost. Family plans are also available when using the service.

The cost ranges from $12.99-$54.99, not including the summer discounts, which cuts down the price of all passes by nearly 50 percent in some cases.

AMC Stubs A-List

The AMC pass allows viewers to see three movies per week for a monthly fee of $19.95. There are no limitations on when the movies can also be seen, which allows audiences to see three movies in one day if they choose.

The pass must be bought with at least a three-month commitment. The pass is only valid at AMC theaters.

There are no limitations on movies that can be seen with the pass, including viewing 3D and IMAX presentations. All prior AMC Stubs Premiere benefits are included in the pass.

Cinemark Movie Club

The Cinemark Movie Club may be better for less-frequent moviegoers, as it only gives one movie credit per month. The monthly fee is $8.99 and club members receive 20 percent off food and drinks at Cinemark theaters.

The club also allows club members to add additional tickets to their online order for the discounted $8.99 as well.

Any unused credits roll over from month to month, so, theoretically, a club member could have multiple movie club screenings in one month. All unused credits are good for six months after cancelation.
