Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen Divorcing Following Split Rumors—Full Statements

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen are divorcing following split rumors.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, 45, and former Victoria's Secret angel, 42, confirmed the news in lengthy statements posted to their Instagram Stories on Friday.

"In recent days, my wife and I finalized our divorce from one another after 13 years of marriage. We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together," Brady began. "We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve."

He continued, "We arrived at this decision to end our marriage after much consideration. Doing so is, of course, painful and difficult, like it is for many people who go through the same thing every day around the world. However, we wish only the best for each other as we pursue whatever new chapters in our lives that are yet to be written."

"And we kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate what is to come in the days and weeks ahead," the California native concluded. "Thank you."

Brady and Bündchen are parents to son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9. He is also dad to son Jack, 15, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.

As for Bündchen, she wrote, "With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce. My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care and attention they greatly deserve."

The Brazilian model added, "The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always."

"I kindly ask that our privacy be respected during this sensitive time. Thank you."

People was the first to report the news.

Brady has won seven Super Bowl titles throughout his 23 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), spending most of his career with the New England Patriots.

In February, he announced his retirement from the sport.

"I have always believed that the sport of football is an 'all-in' proposition—if a 100 percent competitive commitment isn't there, you won't succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game," he said at the time, noting that he wanted to "focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention."

Just over a month later, however, Brady unretired.

"These past two months I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it's not now," he tweeted. "I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG."

Bündchen later expressed her "concerns" about her husband's return to the NFL in an interview with Elle.

"Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present," she candidly told the outlet in their October 2022 cover story. "I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again, but ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too."
