Tomi Lahren Mocked for San Francisco Cocaine Tweet

Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren tweeted a story about an apparent encounter with a drug user in San Francisco this week. What followed was a thorough online mocking, as the internet is wont to do.

"First time in San Fran- see a man snorting cocaine off the street," Lahren tweeted on Monday. "So sad this beautiful place has become such a cesspool. Thanks for nothing, Liberals!"

Many people were, to put it mildly, skeptical of Lahren's story. Actor and sports personality Michael Rapaport, for instance, tweeted in response: "You're a liar. How close were you to the man snorting Cocaine off the street? Are you a drug sniffing dog? How do you know it was Coke? FAKE NEWS from the lady with the FAKE NOSE."

Writer and producer Brad Wollack referenced the apparent choice of location for the drug use. He posted: "Original lyrics to Scott McKenzie's 'San Francisco': If you're going to San Francisco Be sure to snort some coke off of the street If you're going to San Francisco You're gonna do blow next to people's feet..."

Comedian and writer Mike Drucker chose a different pop culture reference. He posted: "Ah, yes. This certainly happened. Just like the time you got into a fight playing basketball in Philadelphia and had to move in with your relatives in Bel-Air."

More than one person simply posted that the situation in the tweet from Lahren didn't actually happen. Business Insider's Joe Perticone, for instance, tweeted: "lmao just picturing some totally not made up person bending over face down on the ground doing lines off the sidewalk."

TV producer Bill Prady brought up that it might be pretty difficult to do that drug off the street, while also using the common trolling tactic of purposefully misspelling Lahren's name.

"We've discussed the improbability (from a physics standpoint) of snorting cocaine off the street due to its rough porous nature," he tweeted. "San Francisco streets do have imbedded cable car tracks which are smooth. Was he using a cable car track, Tammy?"

Lahren, for her part, defended herself with another tweet about San Francisco. "Love when you clowns try to insist there isn't a homeless or drug problem in SF! Yep. Sure."
