'Top Gun: Maverick' Digital Release Date Confirmed With Bonus Content

Top Gun: Maverick has been flying high at theaters since it was released on May 27, 2022.

But fans will soon have the chance to enjoy the Top Gun sequel from the comfort of their own home, as Paramount has confirmed when the film will be available digitally and on DVD and Blu-ray.

Top Gun: Maverick marks the return of Tom Cruise's Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, who, after several decades, returns to TOPGUN to train a group of the world's best pilots for their most dangerous mission yet.

The movie has earned $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office, and, though it is still available to watch in theaters, Paramount has announced the film will be released digitally on August 23.

For fans of the film who are prefer physical media, Top Gun: Maverick will also come out on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD on November 1. The digital and physical release will also come with bonus content.

Over 110 minutes of bonus content will be included in the film's digital release, including featurettes on how the cast members trained to fly their planes, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the film.

Cruise will also helm featurettes titled, "A Love Letter to Aviation" and "Forging the Darkstar," which explore how the film pushed the limits beyond Mach-10 for the purpose of the film. He will also appear in a masterclass that was filmed at the Cannes Film Festival.

Also included as part of the bonus content are the music videos for Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand" and OneRepublic's "I Ain't Worried," as well as the teaser for Cruise's next film Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One.

This content, bar the Mission: Impossible trailer, will also be included in the 4K Ultra release, and the majority of the featurettes will also appear in the Blu-ray and DVD editions of the film.

When Will Top Gun: Maverick Be Available to Stream?

While the film's digital release has been confirmed for August 23 and its physical media release for November 1, the streaming release date for Top Gun: Maverick is still yet to be announced.

When it is released, the film will be available to stream on Paramount+, the studios' dedicated streaming platform. Right now, if viewers want to watch the film digitally they will have to pay for it.
