A couple that blogged their travels on Instagram were both drunk when they fell 800 feet to their deaths from a beauty spot in Yosemite National Park, an autopsy report revealed Friday.

Meenakshi Moorthy, 30, and her husband Vishnu Viswanath, 29, died after falling from Taft Point in Yosemite in October.

Viswanath's brother, Jishnu Viswanath, told The Associated Press at the time that the couple had fallen after setting up their camera tripod close to the edge of the ridge.

On Friday, Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said that an autopsy investigation carried out on January 4 found that the couple died "of multiple injuries to the head, neck, chest and abdomen, sustained by a fall from a mountain," reported The Mercury News.

According to the report they had consumed alcohol and were intoxicated at the time of the accident. The couple had not taken any drugs, the report found.

Andrea Stewart, assistant Mariposa County coroner, told the Mercury that "we can only conclude that they had consumed alcohol but it is unknown to what level of intoxication."

Park officials are investigating the circumstances of the couple's death.

The couple were Indian nationals who had moved to the U.S. after marrying in 2014.

Moorthy had documented the couple's travels around the world in her blog, "Holidays and HappilyEverAfters," posting pictures on an Instagram account of the same name.

Viswanath worked as an engineer at the San Jose, California, headquarters of Cisco.

In one Instagram post accompanying a picture of her overlooking the Grand Canyon from a ledge, she had warned of the dangers of taking risks for spectacular selfies.

"A lot of us including yours truly is a fan of daredevilry attempts of standing at the edge of cliffs and skyscrapers, but did you know that wind gusts can be FATAL?? Is our life just worth one photo?"
