Travis Kelce Slammed Over 'Cringey' Video

Travis Kelce is facing backlash over his "rude" behavior toward Justin Tucker, with the "cringey" clip viewed over 26.5 million times.

Filmed on the sidelines ahead of Sunday's game, the footage shows the Kansas City Chiefs warming up at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.

Justin Tucker, placekicker for rival team the Baltimore Ravens, was already suited up and doing lunges on the field nearby. However, Kelce seems unamused by the 34-year-old's location, with Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes practicing his throwing in Tucker's vicinity.

As Mahomes steps closer to Tucker, a frustrated-looking Kelce jumps in and tosses away the Ravens star's helmet and football, before darting off in the opposite direction.

Fortunately, Tucker appeared to find Kelce's antics amusing, laughing and smirking while continuing to prep for the game.

The video was shared to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday by NFL correspondent James Palmer, where it quickly went viral.

"Travis Kelce told Justin Tucker he needed to move because their QB Patrick Mahomes had to warm up. So Kelce kicked his ball away and threw his helmet," Palmer wrote alongside the footage.

However, many users were unimpressed with Kelce's "rude" behavior, accusing the 34-year-old of "poor sportsmanship."

"What a jerk," commented @RetiredCrimeDog.

"This is why Everyone hates kelce," said Lus.

"I'll never understand athletes doing dumb egotistical s*** knowing full well there are cameras on them," wrote @InternetH0f.

"Kelce trying to act tough for his crush like he's in middle school. This is so cringey," said Ryan Sieb, referring to Kelce's pop star girlfriend Taylor Swift, who is a regular at his games.

Other users defended the Chiefs' tight end, accusing Tucker of ignoring "protocol."

"There's absolutely zero reason Tucker needed to do his stretches right there. I'm not sure why people are acting like he's a victim," said Al Scott.

"This is mind games both ways. Tucker knows what he's doing," wrote Benny Smallz.

"Each team gets a side. This is football 101," said CoachJSG. "If Tucker was on the Chiefs side, he's 100 percent wrong."

Newsweek has reached out to Travis Kelce for comment by email and Justin Tucker by Instagram.

The Chiefs went on to win the AFC Championship game, beating the Ravens 17-10. The team will be heading to Las Vegas on February 11 to face the San Francisco 49ers at this year's Super Bowl.

Kelce's post-game celebration with Swift also took over the internet, with the 34-year-old singer joining him on the field following their victory. The Grammy winner is rumored to be attending the Super Bowl, although this means taking a 12-hour flight from Japan after resuming her Eras Tour in February.

The pop icon recently came under fire from climate activists, after she reportedly used her private jet to visit Kelce 12 times in just three months.
