Travis Kelce Had NSFW Reaction to Bill Belichick, Chargers Rumors

If New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick moves on from the team this offseason, count Travis Kelce among the many people who don't want to see him more often.

On the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason on Wednesday, Travis discussed a moment between himself and the legendary Patriots coach that went viral on social media after the Chiefs' 27-17 victory over the Patriots. In the clip, Travis and Belichick shared a lengthy handshake as they discussed something.

The interaction appeared highly respectful, and on the podcast, Travis confirmed that it was.

"I just mentioned how much I respect him, and how much it's always the biggest challenge I go up against in the National Football League, going up against one of his defenses," Travis said. "I just wanted to make sure he heard that from my mouth. It's been a pleasure going up against him all these years."

Travis and Belichick have faced each other eight times since the Chiefs star joined the league in 2013, including twice in the playoffs. The Chiefs are 5-3 in those head-to-head contests, but the Patriots won both playoff games, including an overtime victory in the AFC Championship in 2019.

Kelce also reiterated his postgame comments when he was asked about Belichick's future. He believes Belichick "has some football left in him."

Rumors have swirled, however, that Belichick's future might not be in New England. If the legendary coach does move on, Kelce would prefer it very much if he went somewhere other than the Los Angeles Chargers. After all, the Chargers and Chiefs are both in the AFC West.

"Can we get like a young, never-heard-of college coach?" Travis said, when Jason asked who the Chargers should hire. "I don't want a f***ing good coach to come in the f***ing my division, dude. Get the f*** out of here. I hope they f***ing hire some jabroni, man."

Jason brought up the possibility of Belichick, noting that his status as a "front-runner" for a job with the Chargers is pretty obvious.

"People are saying Bill Belichick might be the front-runner for the head coaching role," Jason said. "Yeah, no s***, Bill Belichick is going to be the front-runner for any head-coaching role. I mean, what are we talking about here, guys? If he is available, I think everybody is going to want this guy."

Jason added that Belichick has had plenty of success with a talented quarterback before.

"Nope, I don't want to see it," Travis reiterated, as Jason chuckled. "I hope they get some trash-ass coach who nobody knows."
