Travis Kelce Body Language Praised in Taylor Swift Video

Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has been given the thumbs-up from a Taylor Swift fan for the way he walked into an event with Grammy winner.

The Super Bowl-winning tight end and his pop icon girlfriend, both 34, attended a charity gala in Las Vegas.

Kelce and Swift dressed up to the nines for his teammate Patrick Mahomes' Mahomies Foundation Golf Classic gala on Saturday.

He led Swift into the dinner event by holding hands as she trailed behind him. One fan posted the video to X, formerly Twitter, and praised Kelce for his body language.

"do you see the difference? i love how travis kelce walked several steps in front of taylor while still protected her," wrote @S0L0NGL0ND0N, adding "travis doesn't put taylor in the basement. hes not afraid of her shine. he lets her bejeweled."

But other people disagreed in the replies, arguing it was too hard to decipher their relationship from a short clip.

"[you be] set[ting] the bar loooooow," replied @CandaceTX.

And @danitunstall replied, "How anyone is interpreting anything deep either positive or negative from this clip blows my mind, literally just two people walking in a normal fashion into an event."

But others agreed, including @LexieIfa55256 who wrote, "He always make Taylor a very special someone sweet💕."

Body language experts argue that while holding hands can show the strength of a couple's relationship it can also issue warning bells depending on how they are doing it.

"Often shown in romantic movies the side-by-side walk on the beach, is usually connected to romance but what if one walks in front of the other? That is a big red flag!" wrote expert Gavin Stone on LinkedIn.

"Other than situations which might require them to do so, or for whatever reason it's not practical, one partner walking on ahead of the other, is a warning sign that they want to go their own way and expect you to keep with them and their desires and direction."

Stone added the other partner can "either follow along or break away" except "when it's done in a way where he's holding your hand the entire time."

"Like a dominant man leading you to safety. If it becomes too much of a regular thing however, I'd be asking if there's a reason why. If he's not holding your hand and just walking one or two paces ahead (maybe more), then maybe it's time to let him take his path and you go your own way," Stone wrote.

Terri Orbuch, a professor at Oakland University in Michigan, explained the distance a couple is even when holding says a lot about their relationship.

"Most people have a radius of about a foot and a half around us that is our personal space," Orbuch told Women's Health, "and if you let someone into that it indicates intimacy."

"When there's a big gap between people, even if they're holding hands, I think of them more as friends."
