Trevor Noah Slams Donald Trump's Defense of Saudi Arabia: 'He Wears His Bankruptcy on His Sleeve'

President Donald Trump was in the hot seat on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah per usual on Wednesday night. This time it was for his apparent reluctance to suggest there was possible Saudi Arabian foul play in the suspected murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Late-night host Noah ripped into the president for his seemingly lax response to evidence of the country's alleged involvement in Khashoggi's death. Noah claimed the president didn't want to blame Saudi Arabia in effort to not disrupt the highly lucrative weapons deal the U.S. has with the country.

"You know, say what you want about Trump, but he wears his moral bankruptcy on his sleeve," Noah said. "Because in all honesty, other presidents have also made these types of calculations, but Trump is the only one that admits it."

It wasn't Trump's "reluctant" reaction to Khashoggi's death and Saudi Arabia's potential involvement in his alleged murder that set Noah off the most though. It was bringing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused of sexually assaulting California professor Christine Blasey Ford, into the mix. Trump said people were too quick to deem him as guilty, and he suggested folks were taking the same approach towards Saudi Arabia for the death of Khashoggi.

"Are you kidding me? Brett Kavanaugh? You're gonna bring Brett Kavanaugh into this?" Noah said. "I like how Trump's way of dealing with an extremely sensitive issue is to bring in another extremely sensitive issue. I mean, poor Supreme Court Justice for life Brett Kavanaugh. He just got finished with one giant controversy and now you're gonna drag him into another one?"

If there were any comparisons to make between Kavanaugh's scandal and the allegations surrounding Saudi Arabia, Noah said it would only be Trump's response. "In many ways, this is like the Kavanaugh situation," the late-night host said. "Trump says he wants to find out what happened, but in reality, he has already made up his mind."
