President Donald Trump has suggested his own health and stability will be an asset to the GOP going into the November midterms.
Touting his last physical as evidence he's always been "good at testing," the president said he was a good manager and that style was a benefit to the Republican party.
"We probably have the greatest economy in history," Trump said in a Wednesday evening interview with Hill.TV. He did not back this statement up with any numbers.
"I think we're going to do much better than anyone thinks because the economy is so good, and people do like the job I'm doing," he added.
Discussing his own strengths looking towards the upcoming midterms, the president added: "You know, I took that test when I got my last physical, and the doctor said that's one of the highest scores we've ever seen. I did that not because I wanted but I did it, I was always good at testing."
"But if there's anything great about me it's stability, and I'm a good manager. Always been a good manager, but you know, I have a vision," he added.
The president has previously spoken about his physical fitness—both during his presidential election campaign in 2016 and following his first physical as president.
Indeed, the letter from his physician released during the presidential campaign that described Trump's physical strength and stamina as "extraordinary" was later revealed by Dr. Harold Bornstein to have been dictated by Trump himself.
"Actually, his blood pressure, 110/65, and laboratory results were astonishingly excellent. His physical strength and stamina are extraordinary," the letter, which strongly resembled trump's writing style, said.
And after Michael Wolff released his tell-all book about the White House and insinuated that Trump was mentally unstable, the president responded on Twitter commenting that he was a "very stable genius."
"Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. Crooked Hillary Clinton also played these cards very hard and, as everyone knows, went down in flames. I went from VERY successful businessman, to top T.V. Star to President of the United States (on my first try). I think that would qualify as not smart, but genius....and a very stable genius at that! " he said in a series of tweets.
