Trump Supporter Says Joe Biden Isn't Alive, Jim Carrey is Playing Him

A supporter of former President Donald Trump believes popular Hollywood actors are playing the part of President Joe Biden, who has died, according to a video shared online over the weekend.

The individual, while decked out in clothing displaying support for the former president, shared the theory in an interview with Jason Selvig, a member of the comedy duo The Good Liars. According to Selvig, the interview took place this past weekend at the Trump rally in Delaware County, Ohio.

In the video, the woman, while standing next to a man wearing a shirt that says "Trump + JFK Jr. 2021," told Selvig says Biden, the current occupant of the White House, is dead. She goes on to say that a few recognizable faces are playing Biden.

"No, the guy that's doing the stand-up job of trying to wake people up is an actor wearing a mask," she said.

She then goes on to name specific actors who she believes to be playing the leader of the United States.

"I mean there are several different people playing Joe Biden at this point. And when he fell up the stairs going on the airplane, I myself think that that was Jim Carrey. I heard that he was one of them," she says.

At this point in the video, Selvig interjects and restates her statement back to her that the Dumber and Dumber star is one of the people sitting in the Oval Office at times. As he repeats the words back to her, the woman can be seen nodding her head in agreement.

The Trump supporter, who was not identified by name in the video, also cited a specific instance in which Carrey was allegedly playing the president of the United States. Additionally, she gives Selvig another actor's name whom she believes also takes on the role of Biden.

"And being silly by falling up the stairs three different times and James Woods is also one of the doppelganger mask-wearing people," she says.

Selvig, in a response to Newsweek, said "to the best of our knowledge these people were being 100 percent serious."

He also indicated that the individuals he talked to appeared to be "part of a Qanon-related online community who believe that Donald Trump is currently the acting president."

During Saturday's rally in Ohio, the former president touted his intelligence a number of times. He's also referred to himself as a "very stable genius" on other occasions.

On the popular, long-running sketch comedy program, Saturday Night Live, Carrey, for a time, portrayed Biden until ultimately decided to give up the role. In late 2020, cast member Alex Moffat took over the role of Biden.

Earlier this month, the Bruce Almighty star said that he was likely done with acting, telling Access Hollywood, "I am retiring. I am being fairly serious."

Newsweek reached out to a representative for Carrey for comment.
